Liverpool Film Festival will open with the Lupita Nyong’o starring zombie comedy LITTLE MONSTERS. This gala screening will take place on Thursday 31st October at Liverpool’s brand-new Everyman Cinema, marking the first time that the Liverpool Film Festival and the Everyman Cinema have partnered to bring the annual event to the people of Liverpool.

The perfect movie for a Halloween opening LITTLE MONSTERS is the story of a teacher (Nyong’o) who, with the help of a washed-up musician (Alexander England, ALIEN: COVENANT), battles to keep a class of young children safe during a zombie outbreak.

Nyong’o, who won as Oscar for her role in 12 YEARS A SLAVE, is starring in her second horror film of 2019 after the smash hit US earlier in the year. She is joined by Josh Gad, who is best known as the voice of Olaf in FROZEN, in a film that has already received critical acclaim after screenings at Sundance Film Festival and South by Southwest.  The film is written and directed by Abe Forsythe whose debut film DOWN UNDER, was a critical hit at the London Film Festival in 2016. Altitude are releasing LITTLE MONSTERS in UK and Irish cinemas on 15 November.
