Liverpool Film Festival will open with a Gala screening of documentary LADDIE: THE MAN BEHIND THE PICTURES and short film BEING KEEGAN at Odeon Liverpool One on Friday 12th October.

In Laddie Amanda Ladd-Jones embarks on a journey to better understand her father, Alan Ladd, Jr.—known to friends and colleagues as Laddie—the understated studio chief and Oscar-winning producer behind STAR WARS, ALIEN, BLADE RUNNER, CHARIOTS OF FIRE, POLICE ACADEMY, BRAVEHEART, THE OMEN, THELMA AND LOUISE, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, GONE BABY GONE, and a staggering 154 more. With contributions from some of the biggest names in Hollywood including Morgan Freeman, Sigourney Weaver, Ridley Scott and George Lucas the film provides an in depth look at one of the film industry’s most important players and unparalleled insight into the world of Hollywood.

Screening before Laddie is short film Being Keegan, which stars Liverpool’s own Stephen Graham as a tormented naval officer returning to the city to deal with his past. Filmed in and around the streets of Liverpool Being Keegan is the perfect opening to the festival and features a stand out performance from Graham.
